ENTRY 10: THE DOCTOR (Herman Carter)

"Even the simplest tasks become exceedingly difficult in the clutches of madness. The Doctor’s disturbing methods drive Survivors deep into insanity, filling the air with their deranged screams and revealing their locations. Nothing stops a window vault in its tracks like a healthy dose of Shock Therapy."

LORE SUMMARY: a psychology student with a knack for electroshock treatment, recruited to a neuroscience institute that secretly imprisoned and interrogated government prisoners on the side. Herman became the institute's most messed up torturer, and one day, every single person on site was found dead...except Herman, who had disappeared without a trace!

  A simple storyline, right to the point. Just a sicko weird guy who liked electrocuting people. The Entity gives him electricity powers, and by shocking survivors, he can fry their brains and inflict them with a unique "madness" status that keeps worsening until they start to see illusionary doctors running around.

An evil doctor is kind of a given, and I guess electrocution is an interesting thematic gimmick, though I kinda find this guy forgettable. I even forgot to put his little profile graphic in the links until now, along with another Killer I actually do like. Sorry, you two! I'd probably like the doctor a lot more if his default design had been a little cooler, but it's honestly a bit goofy, which I say as someone who usually likes goofy! He's a bald man whose flesh looks a bit scarred and burnt by his own electricity, with metal medical gear holding his eyes and mouth open and electrodes on his head. He'd have honestly been scarier as a more ordinary looking guy, even someone passable as a legitimate medical professional with just some subtle nastiness. I do like that his weapon is just called "the stick" though, something he threatened uncooperative patients with. It feels unpleasantly believable.

BEST SKIN(S):

"RESIDENT INFESTATION:" another skin involving a swarm of moths, but this one also adds translucent green cysts throughout the killer's flesh! Its description says that the doctor performed a lot of weird experiments, even on himself, so I guess for some reason he engineered some parasitic moths. There are also lots of empty silk cocoons clustered on him like barnacles, which is some nice attention to detail. I guess we don't see any larvae because they all mature at once! I also appreciate that "the stick" now appears to be one of those long tubular bug zapper lights, presumably kept lit by his own electricity. Funny.

"PESTILENCE PHYSICIAN:" he obviously looks a lot better in a plague mask, but who doesn't? It's more of the modern "steampunk" kind of plague mask than an authentic one, with a dapper outfit to match.

"BLOODSHOCK:" this turns Herman into a whole ghoulish hellspawn of some sort, with heavily fried flesh, jagged spiky metal boots, filthy tattered scraps of cloth and an eyeless metal plate covering his face from the mouth up, with some kinda diode things sticking out of it. Freaky, even if it doesn't visually read as a doctor at all now.

"SURGEON OF SLAUGHTER:" even considering that you can infest him with moths, this is honestly my choice for the best looking Herman by far. It just dresses him up like a surgical patient with a hospital gown, tubing and an oxygen mask, but it looks so much cooler and eerier than his usual. Pretty much what I'd have nominated for his default!
