HI-COMMANDRAMON TO BRIGADRAMON

ADULT: HI-COMMANDRAMON

The Commandramon line has been given brand new evolutions, and they aren't bad for what they are. I mean, it's a dinosaur in the military, an inherently dumb concept, but inherently dumb concepts are the lifeblood of this franchise, and if you're into Commandramon, you probably enjoy that this is just a larger commandramon with more armor, a shield and a heavy assault weapon. Its camouflaged skin can still be seen, in spots, but it's a bit useless when it's 90% covered, isn't it?

PERFECT: CARGODRAMON

Haha, wonderful! This was actually shown months before the other two on this page, an aerial Troop Transport counterpart to Tankdramon. It's a giant monster helicopter plane thing, one of those with two propellers attached to the ends of wings, but the propeller blades themselves can bend into "fingers," which is a design choice I'm surprised I haven't seen before. The doors on its sides resemble rib bones, and it has a classic cyborg dramon head on the front, a metal mask with organic gums, teeth and eyes, in this case four eyes! Cool!

ULTIMATE: BRIGADRAMON

Not feeling this as much, but that probably went without saying. Ultimate Digimon just tend to fall into one of two categories where they either ESCALATE EVERYTHING or they kind of "refine" or "distill" down to a less outrageous creature, and while both have equal potential to be cool and creative, we all know how the latter biases humanoid in this series, giving Ultimates a sort of sameyness. It doesn't help that this looks so much like our millionth zillionth Greymon after the Perfect stage teased perhaps another new Dramon. Otherwise, this once again isn't terrible for what it is. For another mechanized greymon looking thingy, it has a nice aesthetic with a lot of rounded blue armor, a translucent head shield, and a futuristic jet pack so large it has wings and an airplane tail. I guess that's all reasonably cool, I'd just find it even cooler if they swapped out the legs for a more dragonlike lower body, or let the airplane part be the lower body, like Cargodramon but sleeker and more "advanced" looking, you know?
