CHERUBIMON X

Cherubimon and especially Cherubimon "Vice" were already among some of the freakiest, most distinct digimon in memory, and the X-form they've given to Cherubimon Vice doesn't disappoint at all. It's a much more artificial and digital looking creature, but not in a bad way; in fact, I'd say this is one case in which an inorganic appearance has made something look even more grotesque, I love how much more exaggerated its proportions are, and that nasty little face is too lovable.

This X-form is said to have an abdomen swollen with darkness, which it can expand as an attack called "Darkness Prison." Anyone touching the orb "has their consciousness trapped for eternity in darkness," or I'm assuming until Cherubimon X is destroyed.

RATING:

The "good" Cherubimon X was also revealed only days before this review went up, and a lot of what I said about the vice form still stands here. In many ways, the angelic version may come across as slightly eerier, but I'm still a bigger sucker for the goth version.
