GLOPPERGEIST

CLASS: ECTOSAUR

The Gloppergeist is one of the Oozosaurs, known for their unusual biohazardous slime.

PARABIOLOGY:

This towering, ungainly ectosaur is an unusually poor levitator, weighed down by its own copious slime and navigating via low-gravity leaps and bounds. When it spies suitable prey, it solidifies to launch itself with greater speed and force, pinning down the victim with its powerful hands and drenching it with ooze.

On contact with living animal tissues, the slime of the Gloppergeist quickly assimilates to the subject's biomaterial, consuming and replacing cells with its own paracorporeal structure. The resulting "slime ghoul" shares many properties with the Ectosaur class, typically retaining only its original bone or chitin structure if applicable, and obeys the directives of the Gloppergeist until finally consumed by the monster, otherwise incapable of digesting meat.

SLIME SECRETION:

The Gloppergeist's infectious slime is intensely purple, icy cold and smells unpleasantly sweet.

HAUNTING ACTIVITIES:

The Gloppergeist is usually heard before it is seen, announcing itself with a cacophony of squawks, hoots and croaks. It is usually accompanied by at least one slime ghoul, consuming its last vassal only under dire circumstances.

TACTICAL MECHANISMS:

TRANSFORMATIVE SLIME: the Gloppergeist's slime can transform a living creature into an oozing, ectosaur-like phantasm under the monster's command.
