NICROPHORA SAPIENS

CLASS: ARTHROPOID

Shy, quiet and easygoing, these arthropoids form monogomous, life-long mated pairs and work together to collect and bury rotting corpses, maintaining a subterranean larder and nursery together.

BASE ORGANISM: Nicrophorinae or "burying beetles" are one of the two major groups of the Silphid carrion beetles. Unlike the Silphinae, they feed solely on carrion itself, preferring small corpses they can bury away from rival beetles and flies.
