"Are you sure you don't want me to do it?"

"I'm fine," Regina slowly made her way over to the bag of cat food. Looking at her, her great niece Beth could hear her creak inside her head. She was turning 95 this year and more than looked it. She poured the stray black kitten a small bowl of the dry stuff with some difficulty.

"It's amazing that you do that for just a kitten. You're far too kind," Beth beamed at Regina, who slowly made her way back to her chair.

"Well, someone's gotta do it," Regina said with a decidedly more neutral expression. "You feed 'em once and they keep coming back."

"And when did you start feeding this little cutie?"

"Oh, I didn't start feeding it. My mother did."
