VAULT - The Atomic Specter

CLASS: UNKNOWN

These eerie interdimensional beings were first discovered haunting the interior of a tremendous, subterranean particle accelerator believed to date back tens of millions of years. The purposes of this device remain unclear, but the Vault slowly multiply within its decaying walls, slipping through some unseen rupture in reality.

A Vault feeds on cerebrospinal fluid through its curious syringe-like claws, earning it the common nickname "spine vampire." Close proximity to a Vault is harmless, but physical contact causes radiation burns. Their presence also tampers with electronically stored data, reconfiguring it into a mathematical language far too alien to translate. The only sound they produce are beeps, squeaks and buzzes, which they are more likely to direct towards machines than living things. They are particularly attracted to bovines as prey, and seem to enjoy dissecting them after draining them completely of fluid. If photographed or filmed, they appear only as clouds of multicolored light.
