The earliest monsters to be developed specifically as works of art, these surreal creations freeze motionless in a contorted pose until potential food draws near, at which point they spring to life in a confusing dance of elegant writhing. Despite their appearance and intended purpose, they are uncommonly strong and make well-rounded battlers.

   A Smultch "kisses" entangled prey to deliver tranquilizing toxins and swallows the victim whole, unhinging its jaws like a snake. It can mimic any sound or voice, and throw it some distance from its body. Its own call is a deep, mechanical-sounding laughter.
