Designed at the peak of the "moat monster" boom, Polyfrogs were intended to be cheaper and more accessible to the lower classes of monster keeper, ironically leading to the fall of moat monsters as a symbol of high society. Still one of the most effective amphibious guard-beasts, Polyfrogs hide themselves in mud or murky water until motion is detected, and use their unique "oral oculars" to guide their sticky, snapping tongue with the utmost precision.

   Polyfrog have the unusual ability to "smell" poisonous creatures, and favor them as prey. Toxins are extracted in the Polyfrog's stomach and stored in its salivary glands, making the very touch of its tongue dangerous.
