PESTARE - The Bug-eye Wormbrain

CLASS: WORMBRAIN

Smallest of the Wormbrains, this shy creature's bloated ocular worm-sacs nonetheless emit a powerful psychoreactive signal, scanning their surroundings for active brains to infect and even detaching from the body to pursue potential hosts. Transfixing the target with a hypnotic pulse, they violently burst in an impressive shower of sticky vitreous jelly, laden with millions of microscopic worm eggs. Only one need breach an orifice to seize control of the victim's brain.    Pestare seem either unaware of or indifferent to the activities of their parasites, wandering aimlessly or napping while their eyes rapidly regenerate. They feed on small, soft bodied invertebrates or organic detritus, with a notable appetite for the waste matter of other brain-fluke hosts.
