Fusion of a human with a cricket, especially a Jerusalem cricket or "potato bug". The Jeremiad is an easily intimidated and generally nonviolent monster, but generates a field of psychic energy that causes pure terror in all who hear its "song". Produced by a vibrating web of muscle that fills much of its skull, a Jeremiad's mournful music sounds remarkably like a pair of finely tuned violins. Though not particularly intelligent, stories abound that these creatures harbor an unimaginable evil.
