CIMEX

CLASS: ARTHROPOID

Fusion of a human with a bed-bug. This small creature can conceal itself completely beneath an incredibly tough carapace that holds fast to surfaces like a powerful sucker. Frequently hiding under beds or in hollow walls, it sends out a long, threadlike tongue from its snout to drain blood and other fluids from sleeping prey. Its saliva causes several days of flu-like symptoms in most living vertebrates, preventing their escape even after the creature reveals itself.

The shell of the Cimex bears its own set of fully functioning eyes. Its body is naturally a translucent brown, but becomes vivid red or orange as it gorges on blood.
