One of the most feared aquatic vampires, this small creature prefers to feed from a single vertebrate host for an extended period of time. Attaching itself to the spinal column, it seizes control over motor functions and imbues the host with unnatural strength, agility and regenerative properties. Victims hunger insatiably for raw meat, maintaining a high blood count for their new master and fuel for their ongoing transformation into a larger, grotesquely muscled form.

   A Barnagoose cannot control the body of another vampire, but may attach to one and feed as a symbiote, combining its natural psychic abilities with those of its partner. Vampiathan may maintain hundreds or even thousands of these creatures on their bodies, creating them from natural barnacles to serve them as a sort of "cult."
