PENTASTOMID SAPIENS

CLASS: ARTHROPOID

Small but fairly formidable sanguivores, Pentastomoids come in several anatomical subtypes, superficially sharing only an oral sucker and four gripping appendages. These creatures can bloat rapidly on blood, and prefer to feed from inside a larger creature whenever possible.

BASE ORGANISM: Pentastomidae or "tongue worms" are vermiform endoparasites derived from the Crustacea. They are major parasites of birds and reptiles, favoring the respiratory tracts, though a few species infect mammals.
