Written by Jonathan WojcikOctober 13 Halloween Card Review: From Beyond
This whimsically threatening card bears only the words "GRANDSON," indicating a special message for the male offspring of one's immediate progeny. The only artwork is a skull and crossbones, universally recognized as a symbol for death, with the green tinge of microbial decay, yellowed eyeballs still rolling in its slime-crusted sockets.
Opening the card, we are pleasantly surprised by its innocent and touching message from the grave. Despite their demise, this decomposing cadaver still has the love of its grandchildren in its maggot-ridden heart, perhaps even if it never lived to see their birth. The jovial ghoul even works in a casual pun on its own deceased status, clearly content with the natural order and more interested in mailing out cards than clawing its way from the ground to feast on our precious marrow.
Instead of rating this card I'm just going to openly dare someone with both a deceased parent and still-living child to give them this card with the deceased's signature. You can purchase it at Wal-Mart.
