"boss... Are.. Are you sure I'm doing this right? I mean... I don't think they're supposed to faint like this

..."

"Yes old friend, you are doing wonderfully."

...

"LLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I PRESENT TO YOU. THE MOST HORRID. STRANGEST. CREEPIEST FREAKS YOU'VE EVER SEEN AT ANY ATTRACTION OF THIS KIND!"

the old ringmaster was blaring about his prized attraction again, his beloved freakshow.

The crowd was full of people. Young, old, families, couples, even small children came to watch.

"FIRST UP IN OUR FREAKSHOW! THE MAN WHO COULD SLINK THROUGH DRAINS!! CORKSCREW!!!

out in front of the crowd the elongated, curled, pitiful creature limped out, tears just barely forming on its face. The crowd was too enthralled by the show to notice its pain.

The freakshow always went like this.

Whether it was old corkscrew, bulbous Bonnie, or zigzag.

Pain and suffering, all around. Completely unnoticed.

The show went on for hours. The freaks doing various tricks relating to their deformities. Oh how everyone was entertained.

When the show was over, and the families were leaving, the ringmaster stood with a watchful eye just outside the tent.

After everyone else had left, a single, young boy ran from the tent, as if trying to not be seen. The ringmaster caught him by the shoulder and spoke.

"Whoa there little boy! Where are you going... Where are your parents???

The ringmaster gave an exaggerated lean in to listen to the boy's replies.

" Uh.. I uh.. I came alone..."

"Alone you say! My what a grown up lad you must be!"

The boy gave a short grunt before the ringmaster gave a look around.

"Well... I think a special grown up lad like yourself deserves to see something extra special."

Before he could protest, the ringmaster had already dragged him into the tent and behind the stage... With the  freaks

"Let me introduce you to our fine cast!"

The ringmaster ran through with the boy, showing him everyone. They all gave him sad, pitful looks and quietly looked away, as though they were too afraid to say something.

"And here... We have a very special someone... Someone who doesn't get to preform anymore... This is bonsai "

Before them stood a creature. It seemed more like a tree made of human flesh than anything else. Its knarled flesh and crooked arms stood still, and yet, shuddered.

It looked at the boy, and it gave a sad, defeated sigh.

"Please... Not another..."

The boy was confused. He was about to ask when he suddenly felt an extreme pain in his left arm.

He woke up in a dark room, chained to a wall. There was almost no light, and the floor was made of old, black, splintery wood.

The door opened.

"Its time again, old friend."

It was the ringmaster.

He gestured to a small figure standing next to him, its smooth, wet skin glistened in what light came from behind them.

It gave a short grunt, and moved some of its black matted hair out of its face before closing in.

The ringmaster closed the door beht him, and stood, watching.

The creature placed its slimy, webbed hands on the boy's arm, which he now noticed was visibility broken.

It grabbed hard and jerked it into various positions, each movement causing extreme pain.

"Shoot"

The creature muttered. It stuck its tongue out of its beaky mouth, as if to concentrate.

As it jerked and jarred his broken limb more and more, the pain became more intense until eventually the poor boy passed out.

"Damn.."

CRACK

"... Boss... Are you really sure I'm helping?"

"Yes my friend. You always do a magnificent job."

"...if you say so sir..."

The ringmaster, as if pleased, chuckled softly and left.

Walking down the hall, a voice spoke up.

"...why do you do this? Is there not enough? Does our suffering not please you?"

He simply chuckled again, and spoke without turning.

"Its business my dear freak, and thinking like this is what made you the way you are now."

"That thing of yours is why I'm like this. Its because of you"

"Hold your tongue bonsai! Or do you want another visit with our old friend?"

Bonsai got quiet immediately, and turned their distorted eyes away defeatedly.

After a moment of silence the ringmaster continued down the hall to his office.

After all, he has to add his new freak to the roster.
